Launching a sustainable product as a social business

15/16 Social & Local Bursary winners, Billy & Nathaniel, Falmouth University

Keen cyclist Billy spotted that as yet, there was no rucksack available on the market that could be utilised on and off the bike. He envisioned a rucksack that was conveniently practical, yet oozing style. When he met Nathaniel, who was studying Sustainable Product Design at Falmouth Uni, the idea for Vantola was born.

Billy and Nathaniel have worked closely on a prototype, to launch on Kickstarter in summer 2017. For every rucksack sold, 5% of the proceedings will be donated toward charities offering educational travel trips for children. A bursary from Social & Local is helping Vantola to market both their product and their social business.
