What has been our role?
Way back in 2011, Barnardo’s commissioned us to see how they could better integrate marketing into their sales processes across their 10 regional offices. Our thorough review and proposed new model for them has, over the years, moved them from the position of winning 1 in 4 tenders to today’s 1 in 2. Since then Barnardo’s has been a constant in our lives where we support the Business Development team with insight-led strategic consultancy services.
Our job is to deliver the insight and intelligence in real time relating to needs, barriers and motivations of their audiences (effectively commissioners of services in Local Authorities, NHS); once informed we then input into their B2B marketing strategy suggesting where their message will have most traction, what the messaging might look like and where there is most effective channel sensitivity.
Business development projects that we have worked on for Barnardo’s include:
- Developing service offer and marketing plan for Barnardo’s Centre of Excellence for Female Genital Mutilation and Centre of Excellence for Child Sexual Exploitation
- Designing and piloting a new advocacy-based marketing model for recruiting Foster Carers
- Scoping the market opportunity for Barnardo’s to grow their business in relation to providing Emotional Health & Wellbeing Services for young people.
“I find S&L to be easy to work with, very professional and able to deliver evidence driven, practical proposals that help us move forward.”
Liam Duffy, Director, Business Development
